How to Find Meaning in the Stagnant Seasons (Even When Nothing Feels Like It’s Moving)
Hey SoulFlee fam,
Let’s have an honest moment.
Have you ever looked around at your life and thought,
"Okay… so… is anything actually happening? Because it sure doesn’t feel like it."
You’re showing up. Doing the inner work. Drinking the water. Trying the journaling. Saying the affirmations.
And yet—
✨ No big breakthrough.
✨ No major shift.
✨ No perfect clarity about your “life purpose.”
Just… this weird, quiet, in-between season.
The stagnant times.
Where the to-do list feels dry, the future feels fuzzy, and your motivation is somewhere on vacation without you.
If that’s where you are right now, first of all: you’re not alone.
And second: there’s more going on than you think.
That “blah” sensation you feel?
It’s not laziness. It’s not failure.
It’s usually one of two things:
You don’t feel connected to the value behind what you’re doing.
You’re craving certainty before you commit fully to the next step.
And I get it. We want to know it’ll all mean something. That the effort will pay off. That we’re doing the right thing on the right path.
But life’s funny like that—it rarely hands us clarity on a silver platter.
(If it does, it’s probably a scam or a self-help guru trying to sell you a crystal water bottle.)
Here’s the hard truth wrapped in a cozy SoulFlee hug:
We often mistake momentum for meaning.
We think if we’re not moving fast, we must not be going anywhere.
We think if the vision isn’t crystal clear, we must not be aligned.
We think if the results aren’t showing yet, the work isn’t working.
But here’s what’s actually true:
✨ Growth often happens quietly.
✨ Breakthroughs are built on consistency, not speed.
✨ Purpose is often discovered while walking, not waiting.
Sometimes the work you're doing now—
The habits.
The healing.
The boundaries.
The messy drafts and awkward attempts and half-baked ideas—
That’s the bridge.
That’s what’s carrying you into the next version of yourself.
Even if it doesn’t feel like transformation.
Even if your life doesn’t look wildly different.
Even if your journal entry today sounds exactly like last Tuesday’s.
You're building a life.
You're tending to a vision.
And not every step is supposed to look like fireworks.
Here are a few reminders to carry with you on the days when your spark feels dim:
Ask yourself: What am I really moving toward?
Not the perfect version. Not the Instagrammable outcome.
Just… what would feel really good in my body, my life, my spirit?
Even if the results aren’t instant, connecting to your why can re-light the fire.
No one said the path to purpose would be well-lit and Pinterest-worthy.
Progress might look like a nap, a breakdown, or a late-night journal spiral.
It still counts. You still count.
Write one page.
Send one message.
Take one mindful breath.
Sometimes forward isn’t fast—it’s just faithful.
I used to think if I didn’t feel inspired, I shouldn’t write.
But journaling—especially during those stagnant times—became my way back to myself.
What started as random thoughts turned into clarity.
What started as self-doubt turned into confidence.
And what started as a messy outlet turned into a strategy—a ritual that calms my nervous system, clears my mind, and reconnects me to my purpose.
Now, I still don’t always have perfect clarity.
But I have momentum.
I have meaning.
And I have tools that keep me grounded—especially when things feel slow.
“The future comes one day at a time.”
—Dean Acheson
You don’t have to know everything to keep going.
You just have to keep choosing yourself—even on the days when it feels quiet.
You are not behind. You are not stuck. You’re in the becoming.
